



Power Yoga, Pilates, interval training for Kinesthetic Development
The modern science of genetics seeks to understand the process of inheritance. recent research has revealed that genetic factors explain a considerable part of the associations between athleticism, cardiorespiratory fitness and obesity.
Kinesthetic intelligence involves two components: the coordination of one’s bodily movements and the ability to manipulate objects in a skilled manner (Gardner, 1983). Included are three central cognitive skills in bodily-kinesthetic intelligence: Motor logic, kinesthetic memory, and kinesthetic awareness (Seitz, 1992). One cannot think kinesthetic intelligence only in the physical sense or “motor logic skill” but would also include kinesthetic memory refers to subtle body as an energetic “feeling” or “emotional kinesthetic memory” and kinesthetic awareness to the causal body.
Although genetics plays a large role in the appearance and behavior of organisms, it is the combination of genetics with what an organism experiences in its enviornment that determines end results. For example, while genes play a role in determining an organism's size and health it experiences after inception also have a large effect on outcomes.

The way you move your body affects the way you experience life. Changes occur in accord with energy, intensity, and duration of the training regimen. The more in tune with this process and the more intentional you are about it the more fully and dynamically, the more dramatically you will experience life. The body is our experiential vessel and how we use it and how we train it is extremely important so an intelligent meaningful and systematic approach is needed.

I learned this sequence from Master Teacher Larry Schultz, in San Francisco. I had the good fortune of meeting a student of his while traveling in San Miguel de Allende, Mexico, in 2000 while visiting a Greateful Dead family member, John Dawson. At the time I was already immersed in a career as a fitness professional and was deeply commited to the process of healing my body from years of contact sports and athletic training. During my collage career playing free safety I suffered numerous injuries in high impact collisions. My body was severely mis aligned from imbalances that this training created from over a decade of explosive plyometric athletic training as well as olympic style weight training. I was extremely bulky and overly inflexible. I gravitated to yoga in 1996 while trying to improve my surfing abilities when living in Santa Cruz, California. 1 hour cardio/strength training +
1 hour core /inversiontraining +
1 hour yoga
Although this workshop will benefit all levels of practice, it will especially be geared toward new yoga students who are not receiving the proper instruction and coaching needed to progress in their physical practice.
